We had a little impromptu birthday party on Friday for one of our favorites…Dr. Seuss! We started out with the Cat in the Hat-athon on PBS then moved on to Cat in the Hat jigsaw awesomeness.
Then we had a little Super Stretchy ABC action. Thing One and Thing Two won this round.
But we came back and beat them in round 2!
Then we made little hat snacks out of strawberries, bananas and graham crackers. They were a big hit.
And we couldn’t have a birthday party without cake! Then after watching Horton Hears a Who, we read lots and lots and lots of Dr. Seuss books. The kids challenged me to read Fox in Socks as fast as I could without making any mistakes. I’m proud to say I only messed up twice! Until we had our little party, I never noticed how many Dr. Seuss items we had around the house. I guess that’s the mark of a great children’s author. Did you do anything special to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday?
