Let me start out by saying I’m new to embroidery. That means this is the second thing I’ve ever embroidered. It’s the first one I’ve designed myself. Well, less design and more like drew a picture on some linen then embroidered it.
A friend of mine got married. On the wedding website, the groom’s gift suggestions were “he likes sci-fi.” (At least that’s how I remember it. They’re about to celebrate their 1st anniversary and I just completed their gift. Don’t judge.) And what sci-fi geek doesn’t love Cthulhu?
I used “O Great One” because it seemed the proper name to call Cthulhu when asking him to bless your home. Also, I didn’t want anyone to go mad while lying their head down on the pillow. I got inspiration for the house from another embroidery pattern that I can’t remember the name of.
During the making of this embroidered pillow, I gave birth to kid #5, homeschooled kids #1 and #2, questioned my sanity in regards to having 5 kids, watched many Doctor Who, Star Trek TNG, and Battlestar Galactica episodes, and learned a lot more about embroidery!
